Rev. Barbara Schreiber-Trudel

Being a SpiritGroup Facilitator is fun and rewarding! The purpose of our SpiritGroups program is to inspire Infinite connections through healthy, balanced small groups.
Whether you look to Buddha and his small group of disciples 500 years earlier, to the pioneers of the New Thought Movement over a century ago, or to modern peer-support organizations such as Alcoholics Anonymous, small groups have proven themselves to be a powerful way to engage people in deep, lasting spiritual growth and development.
Today, the value of these groups has not changed. Unity SpiritGroups are independently& functioning, leader-organized gatherings that bring people together in a spirit of love and support, continuing an ancient spiritual tradition. The Facilitator’s role is to co-create a safe and sacred space for connection and discussion. In addition to a warm invitation and spirit of hospitality, only basic facilitation skills are needed. Resources are available. Ongoing support is provided by the SpiritGroup Program Leader and experienced facilitators.
The training, the tools, and the systems have been proven to build robust small groups in New Thought spiritual communities, where people feel the connection and gain a sense of belonging For those who would like a refresher, please feel free to sign up too.
On September 4th, We welcome Rev. Cynthia Vermillion-Foster.

Sabbath - an international practice of rest, renewal and connection with Spirit. As we observe Labout Day, Cynthia will explore the practice of sabbath - of taking regular time to rest and renew in Spirit. This practice allows us to engage life with greater hope, joy and presence.

She is the 2016 recipient of UWM's Myrtle Fillmore Award and Unity Canada's 2017 Northern Lights Award. Cynthia's initial background in ballet continues to inspire her on the spiritual journey as an onging dance of discovery and growth.

SPECIAL INTERACTIVE MEETING
The Board
In the spirit of new life, we are writing to you to provide you with an update of the plans that the Board has been discussing for a number of months, as well as to inform you of three things that happened last week, which will affect our community.
The Board has been discussing a new vision to enhance your community experience and to rebuild our congregation while honoring our traditions, with an emphasis of connection, openness and engagement.
New COVID provincial lockdowns were announced this week, which involves us remaining in this place of virtual community for the time being.
The position of Interim Spiritual Leader is currently not filled as the candidate we have been negotiating with has withdrawn their application.
Your Board believes that these developments are a catalyst for us to hold a special interactive community consultation. We would like to meet with as many of you as possible via Zoom on 10.30am Sunday 16th January in lieu of a full church service.
Please read the following resources to understand why we require your active involvement.
Unity Halton Peel currently consists of 28 current members plus others who view Facebook.
* Pastoral Care Inc. is an organization specifically designed to help support ministers from every Christian denomination through research
On Sunday you will be presented with the vision that the Board has for the next 6 months and you will have the chance to ask questions. There will be time to express your own thoughts in small groups via Zoom rooms. Action items and recommendations will be summarized for the Board to take into consideration as we continue to move forward.
Together we will also sing some positive songs, and we will provide the opportunity to pray together for guidance, patience and grace.
We encourage you to join us to listen to the vision being proposed for our Unity community and to give constructive feedback and ideas.
Time: 10:30am Sunday 16th January 2022
(If you have not used Zoom before we recommend you start the link at 10:15 to give you time to set up Zoom)
We look forward to your attendance and involvement in the future planning for Unity Halton Peel.
Sincerely,
Your Unity Halton Peel Board Members
Phil Cheney – President
Martina Vuksinic – Treasurer
Miguel Castillo – Member at Large
Amy Woods-Newman - Secretary

SUNDAY SERVICE: BURNING BOWL / WHITE STONE CEREMONY
Debbie Long L.U.T.
Burning Bowl Ceremony
White Stone Ceremony
Let Go And Let God!
Join us this Sunday as we begin our new year with two of our customary ceremonies to
Release the Past and Welcome the New
The Burning Bowl Ceremony gives us the opportunity to release all that no longer is working for us and provides us the opportunity to replace what has been let go in our consciousness with what our heart desire.
The White Stone Ceremony is from an ancient teaching focusing on the new name Spirit has for you. This new name was written on a white stone tablet indicating freedom from the past. As we enter the New Year, make a stand and declare what your focus will be for the coming year by calling forth a new name in this unique ceremony.
Due to the increase of Covid cases, it has been decided that we will not be holding an in-person Candle Lighting Service as we had hoped. Where we are presently recording our services, it is unsafe to have lit candles that we would need to produce the ceremony for livestreaming.
Therefore, on Wednesday, December 22, we will be watching our Candle Lighting service from last year. It was a beautiful inspiring service held in our beloved church sanctuary, and we invite you to join us as you are guided to and select one of the 12 Powers as your focus for the coming year.
It will be available on both our website and on our Facebook page beginning on the 22nd and onward. We invite you to share this very special service with your family and friends over the holiday season.

WEDNESDAY EVENING CLASS ON ZOOM
Rev. Mary Wood
Rev. Mary Wood will be leading a class from the book: "Finding Yourself in Transition"
by Robert Brumet
This week's topic is:
Finding Yourself in Transition
SACRED LISTENING CIRCLE Facilitated by Rev. Greg Coles Wednesday, October 14 6:30pm–9:00pm
About our guest speaker/facilitator:
Reverend Greg Coles is a native of Kitchener and a certified consultant from Unity Worldwide Ministries (UWM) who currently serves as the Regional Representative of the Great Lakes Unity Region. Greg has served in leadership roles for small, pastoral and corporate size ministries since 1991. After retiring from pulpit ministry in 2019, Greg now dedicates his time to assisting other ministers and leaders in the Great Lakes Unity Region. In addition to his compassionate heart and church wisdom, Greg also brings skills he has cultivated from experience with Lombard Mennonite Peace Mediation, Healthy Congregations, and UWM Member Services.
Rev. Greg is currently consulting with Unity Kitchener, who elected to sell their building in August and accepted an offer above asking price in September. They are scheduled to close on the sale of their building by the end of October and move into their next chapter as Unity Kitchener.
Unity of Mississauga is considering a proposal to list our building for sale, and to right-size our expenses so that we may better focus on mission than on financial debt. Along with the Coronavirus and social/political upheaval happening in our world, we are experiencing a time of unprecedented change here at Unity of Mississauga. Like the seasons themselves, we know that change is inevitable. It is how we adapt and navigate change that will determine our new future.
Join Reverend Greg Coles as we begin to explore these changes as an opportunity for Spiritual Growth. Specifically, Rev. Greg will facilitate a time of sharing and Sacred Listening, to presence and listen for how changes are making their impact on members of our spiritual community. Each person who attends this workshop will be invited to share from their heart about the changes they are experiencing and changes they would like to experience for Unity of Mississauga.

For the last few years, Unity Leaders have been talking about the need to move with the times and do things differently.
Spiritual Centres and Churches around the globe are being forced to evolve, or they won't survive. This is a new dawning and a wonderful opportunity to continue serving each other and our community in new and exciting ways. In order to do so, we need to come together as one and co-create a new vision for our selves.
Unity of Mississauga is blessed to have the assets that we do,
all because of the visioning and foresight of our forefathers!
There is a shift in consciousness happening right now.
You can make a difference in co-creating the future of our Spiritual Community!
Not only for us, but for generations to come.

You can use your own meditation technique, if preferred.
Please join us from 1:30 – 3:00.
Any questions about the group, please call me (Pat) at the office (905-608-9310).

Halina Kurowska
Are you ready for a paradigm shift in your life?
Are you yearning to experience life in a deeper and more meaningful way?
Would you like to learn how to heal yourself and your life with the power of a blessing?
If you answered “yes” to any of these questions then this Book Study is for you!
You are invited to an in-person Book Study of the wonderful book titled: “The Gentle Art of Blessing: A Simple Practice That Will Transform You and Your World” by Pierre Pradervand.
Dates: Every 2nd Tuesday for 13 weeks starting at 7:00pm
Our group is for Parents and Siblings who have lost a child/sibling to come together and share their family member who has transitioned. All meetings are confidential and non judgmental.
We do not promote any organized religious affiliations nor is that the basis of our meetings.
We do allow a forum to speak about Spirituality and the afterlife as some families treat this as taboo and we want to provide a safe space for this. We may also have a guest speaker now and then if the interest is there

HEAL FROM YOUR PAST WORKSHOP
Renu Arora
Workshop:
Making the Law of Attraction Work for You!
Description:
Have you heard about the Law of Attraction but aren't totally convinced that it's real?
Or do you understand that it works, but haven't figured out how to use it to manifest what you want?
Then this is the workshop for you!
Join in for a hands-on workshop demonstrating exactly how and why the Law of Attraction works. You'll have the opportunity to see for yourself what messages your own subconscious is - and isn't - putting out for the Universe to respond to, and learn how to change the message so that you can manifest the life you really want.
The cost of the workshop is $10 if you pre-register, $15 at the door.
We don't need to "attract" anything because we aren't lacking anything. We don't need to improve ourselves because the Self is already whole. Let's bid good-bye to "self improvement" and set our real Self free.

Unity World Day of Prayer 2016
A Sacred Tradition
Held annually on the second Thursday in September, World Day of Prayer is a 24-hour Prayer Vigil celebrated at Unity Village and in Unity centers and churches around the world.
As you prepare for Unity World Day of Prayer 2016, here are some questions to spark conversation and inspire the expression of your own divine potential. Explore these in quiet moments of reflection, share your thoughts, or use them as guides during group prayer with friends and loved ones.
Reflection Questions
What would it mean for you, and your life, if you knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that God lives in you?
How would your life look if you were living every moment from your divine potential in every aspect—your health, your work, your relationships, your plans, and your spiritual life?
What would the world look like if everyone discovered the power within them and unleashed their divine potential?

In this presentation Paul Cestnick will explain what ascension is and what you need to do (to) achieve it."

Quantum Change Process
Marcia Daly
The Quantum Change Process™ is a technique which helps a client to access limiting core beliefs and unresolved issues and the emotions linked to these, through forgiveness.
Do you feel as if you are a hamster on a wheel, going nowhere really fast?
Are you longing to throw wide open the door to your true life?
Are you stuck in unforgiveness and resentment?
Do you feel like everyone else is moving on with their lives, except you?
Have you looked in the mirror and said “It’s time for a change?”

Empowered Living and Leading
Martha Creek
Tenets of leaders in healthy organizations include:
Persons follow an inner compass. They are guided by their own clear, coherent beliefs, principles and life goals.
Persons take responsibility for self. They are aware of their own feelings, and neither blame others nor require others to share those feelings. They ask themselves regularly What can I learn from this situation
Persons respond to anxiety. They anticipate and recognize heightened anxiety (due to change, loss, & crisis) and accept periods of tension to address issues and complete tasks.
Persons are challenged. They allow persons to work through times of stress or pain. They tolerate the discomfort that can go along with the stresses of having a significant mission and individual growth.
Correlation of Healthy Organizations Tenets Include:
Surviving TraitsThriving Traits
Deny differences Accept differences
Focus on weaknesses Focus on strengths
Focus on issues Focus on mission
Deny conflict exists Manage conflict
Act rigidly Act creatively & flexibly
Depend on skill & technique Increase Presence & Functioning
Join us on Wednesday, April 13 and 20 for “Getting Ready for Martha” – a class focused on the foundation of Martha Creek’s teachings – self differentiation!
This includes learning how to respond rather than react, how to accept differences rather than deny them, and how to focus on our strengths rather than our weaknesses.

Candle Lighting Service
The Candle Lighting Service is a ceremony that celebrates the awakening of the Christ Light within us. A sacred space is created where we experience the reverence of the presence of God.
The 12 candles represent the 12 disciples of Jesus and the attributes of the Christ that the disciples symbolize. These are the 12 Powers, the gifts of God that reside within us.
As we light the candles and accept these gifts, we experience our divine potential.

Service of Release
Debbie Long
Since early childhood, most of us have looked forward to the joy, the love and the beauty of the holiday season. However, many of us have also experienced loss in our lives which can seem to take away these feelings, making Christmas just something to ‘get through’.
If you or someone you love and care about feel this way, then please join us for our “Service of Release”. This small gathering is a safe and gentle way to acknowledge, honor, and release these very real feelings. It matters not if it is a loved one lost, a relationship that has come to an end or changes in employment.
If you heart feels too heavy to allow the joy to come forward then give yourself the gift of self-love and join us to release what is no longer serving you and open your heart. You can find the way to the joy and still honor your grief and feelings through the Christmas season. With Spirit all things are possible.
